  • Melody Gilbert

    DIRECTOR/PRODUCER

Melody is an award-winning director, producer, cinematographer and editor who has directed 12 feature-length documentaries that have screened at prestigious film festivals and been distributed internationally. The films she directs are noteworthy for featuring a rare intimacy with her subjects as she unearths previously hidden worlds. She works mostly solo as a one-woman crew and has the ability to get people to reveal their innermost thoughts, whether it’s the family of a girl who can't feel pain (A LIFE WITHOUT PAIN/Sundance Channel & Oprah), a former Vice President of the United States (FRITZ: THE WALTER MONDALE STORY/ PBS), or people who have full-fledged relationships with synthetic companions (SILICONE SOUL/ STARZ). Two films that she produced recently received national recognition: a national Emmy nomination for BENEATH THE INK (2019) and an Alfred I. duPont Award for LOVE THEM FIRST (2020). The Documentary Channel once called Melody “one of the most fearless filmmakers in contemporary documentary cinema.”

Most recently, Igor worked on a short documentary called Race to Save the World. • Jesse Marks

    SOUND MIX

For well over a decade Jesse has been dedicated to a career in sound production for video. He composes original music compositions, creates realistic sound design for film, and delivers your mix to your final specifications within your deadlines and budget. In his own words: As a sound engineer, I have been trained to critically listen. This set of skills has changed the way I experience each day. As a result I pay closer attention to my everyday surroundings. Whether it be a voice, a musical tone, or a natural environment, the experience of sound is universal. As I discover more about the world by listening, I am able to reflect on my own life. I wouldn’t see the world in the way I do today without sound. Find Jesse's work here: www.jessemarksmusic.com

  • Anna Duplantis

    ANIMATION TIMELAPSE

I am a senior at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. I’m majoring in communications and minoring in creative writing. For “Judy’s Thoughts” I produced a timelapse drawing/animation to show, now impossible, dreams coming true. I have my own short film titled “Anything For You” that I animated, wrote, and directed as part of Melody Gilbert’s Documentary class at NSU.

Over time I’ve tried just about all possible mediums, in what I thought were the only ways to make art, now I strive for storytelling and inspiring others to create too. After I get my degree, I plan to be a storyboard artist.
